Public and Products Liability Insurance

Legal
liability can arise in a number of ways, but primarily because
one does not exercise a duty of care, which is owed to another.
Public Liability Insurance covers the Insured's legal liability
against third party bodily injury and property damage due to
his/her negligent acts. Product Liability Insurance is necessary
for Manufacturer, Distributors and Suppliers of products especially
those who export goods to customers in highly litigious environments
e.g. North America, Canada, Australia etc. The buyers in those
countries sometimes ask for evidence of Products Liability Insurance
from their suppliers to ensure that liability arising as a result
of the use of the products will be covered.
Who needs cover?
Anyone, whether a private individual or a company can owe
a duty to another party and can accidentally breach their
duty either by doing something they should not or by failing
to do something that they should do. Public Liability Insurance
can be arranged for any individual or company. While Products
Liability Insurance is purchased by company, whose business
is involved manufacturing, sales or distribution of goods.
When/ How to insure?
The policy in this market normally covers based on "Occurrence
Basis" which means the incident that causes liability
to the Insured must be occurred during the currency of policy
period. Annual policy is normally arranged for both coverage.
