On the basis of facing Southeast Asia's economic recession and the
fierce competition amongst local and international rice businesses,
our management team had to find the solution to enhance our potential
and products. Accordingly, we have stressed on the organic products
since they has gained more popularity among Europeans who concern
more about heath and environment preservation.
The organic rice cultivation gives more advantages. For example, this
method of agriculture helps reduce the cost of farming and is save
for the farmer's health. And the price can be 20 – 50 % higher than
products grew with chemical substances.
The organic agriculture system is to grow products in the natural
way without using any chemical substances. Thus, there is no any left
over substance causing environment pollutions and people can feel
free to consume these beneficial products helping enhance their health.

Besides, Yong Hong Jau Rice Mill
has run the project of producing biological fertilizer from rice bran
since 1997. In the early days, we experimented the fertilizer in our
demonstration farms. It is proved that our biological fertilizer can
be used in preference to the chemical one. In 2001, the developed
fertilizer was first distributed to local farmers free of charge so
that they would realize the value of biological fertilizer and change
the way of agriculture at last.
Today, the project is successful and is still continuing. By using
our fertilizer in 2500 rai of cultivation areas, the local farmers
can save 1,000,000 baht or so in 2002.
Apart from the fertilizer made from rice husk, our management has
brought together over 40 formulas of accepted biological fertilizers
and also introduced tablet rice husk fertilizer together with the
herbal insecticide. |
