Tariff Barriers
EU
Tariff rate for tuna and tuna products differs from market
to market.
| |
|
EU imposed approximately 24 % tariff
for tuna products, yet with export from ACP countries
(African, Caribbean and Pacific) import tariff is waived.
Moreover, EU tariff escalates for value added products.
Countries from the Andean Pact (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador,
Colombia, Panama, and the central American countries are
exempted from import duties. Furthermore, EU tuna producing
countries such as Spain, are strongly against the reduction
in tuna loin tariff, as it destroys their competitiveness. |

EU further applies different tariff
rates for different species. |
