and layers account for foreign and domestic consumptions whereas
the other concentrates on some particular domestic consumer
groups.
Farming
areas 
• Number of chicken and farming areas in Thailand, 1992-2001:
mainly central and northeastern Thailand. Chicken numbers consistently
increased between 1992 and 2001 (from 135,157,576 to 214,979,081
heads), though slightly dropped to 111,648,510 in 1995. An increase
recurred in 1996 to 144,579,428 heads.
