Thailand produces many types of
rice for both domestic consumption and export. Among these
types, Jasmine rice is considered Thailand's specialty; it
has become the country's trade mark. Jasmine rice has long
grain; once cooked, it permeates a particularly aromatic fragrance
and is very soft and chewy. According to the Thai Rice Mills
Association, the biggest market for Jasmine rice is China.
