This standard specifies
grades, requirements hygiene, container, weights
and measures, marking and labelling, sampling and
criteria for conformity and analysis of copra. |

For the purposes
of this standard, the following definitions apply.
COPRA o Pieces of kernels obtained from the fruits
of Cocos nucifera Linn. and sun dried or heat dried
directly or indirectly. |

3.1 |
Copra is classified
into 3 grades as follows
3.1.1 Grade 1
3.1.2 Grade 2
3.1.3 Grade 3 |

4.1 |
General requirements
The good copra shall be made of mature fruit and
when dried, it shall be hard and fragile. The external
surface shall be brown, smooth, free from mould
or insect or other foreign matter and free from
rancid odour or objectionable odour. |

Characteristic
quality of each grade shall comply with Table
